Tone Class Activity:
The Dog in the Park
A dog is walking in the park.
Your group of 3 will receive a card with a TONE word on it.
Working together, write a detailed description of a dog walking in a park based on your tone word.
You may NOT use the word written on the card in your description.
You are NOT describing how the dog feels. Tone is about how the description of the dog feels to the reader, not how the dog itself is feeling.
Remember: Your word choices will help create the tone.
Groups will have 15 minutes to write a description.
When the time is up, you will read your description to the class, and the class will guess what they think the tone is.
