   Upcoming Due Dates:

  • Get an English class journal by Friday Aug 12 (in class).
  • Summer Assignment due Sunday Aug 14 before midnight.
  • Bring your Odyssey book to class on Tuesday Aug 16 to begin reading.
  • Greek Mythology Group Presentations due on Wednesday Aug 17 (in class).
  • Finish Books 1-4 and summary notes before class on Thursday Aug 18
  • Finish "An Introduction to the Odyssey Reading Assignment" before class on Friday Aug 19.
  • Finish Books 5-8 and question-writing notes before class on Tuesday Aug 23.
  • Finish Books 9-10 and summary notes before class on Tuesday Aug 30.
  • Finish Making Inferences Assignment before class on Thurs, Sept 1 if you did not finish in class.
  • Hero's Journey Video Project due Thursday, Sept 1 before midnight.
  • Finish Book 11 and three question-writing notes before class on Monday, Sept 5.
  • Finish Tone Word Sort Assignment before class on Wed, Sept 7 if you did not finish in class.
  • Finish Books 12-16 and summary notes by Friday, Sept 9.
  • Finish Inferences Assignment #2 before class on Monday, Sept 12 if you did not finish in class.
  • Quiz over the Hero's Journey & Tone on Monday, Sept 12.
  • Finish Books 17-18 and two question-writing notes before class on Tuesday, Sept 13.
  • Finish Books 19-22 and take question-writing notes AND summary notes for chapters 19, 20, 21, & 22. (4 questions, 4 summaries) before class on Wednesday, Sept 21.
  • Finish Personal Narrative Outline Assignment before class on Thursday, Sept 22.
  • Finish Odyssey Timeline by class on Friday, Sept 23 if you did not finish in class.
  • Read the last two books of the Odyssey before class on Friday, Sept 23. NO NOTES this time!
  • Finish writing a draft introduction to your narrative before class on Monday, Sept 26. (About 100-200 words).
  • Finish at least 50% of your personal narrative draft before class on Wednesday Sept 28
  • MAP TEST on Thursday, Sept 29. 
  • Finish 80% of your personal narrative draft before class on Friday Sept 30.
  • Finish 100% of your personal narrative draft before class on Monday Oct 3.
  • If you don't finish your writer's workshop assignments in class, they are all due before the start of class on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
  • FINAL personal narrative story due on Turnitin before 7 pm on Friday, Oct 7.
  • Quarter 1 Journals due in class on Tuesday Oct 11.
  • Story illustrations are due at the end of class on Friday, Oct 14.

  • Wednesday, Aug 10: Here is the link to the get-to-know-you survey we will complete on the first day of class. If you were gone on this day, please complete the survey for homework before class begins on Friday.
